From Berchtesgaden, GER
(Sept. 19, 2022) – The International Luge Federation (FIL) has released their 2022/2023 schedule, with one race still to be determined.
As the Natural Track luge tour usually does, the FIL naturbahn season will start in December with one race, this time in Winterleiten, Austria with both a traditional World Cup race and pursuit event. When the tour resumes post-Christmas it will tentatively do so in Italy, however the FIL has yet to announce where in Italy this race will be. Locations could possibly be Laas, Latch, or Passeiertal, but nothing has been announced just yet.
From there the tour will make its way to Jaufental, Italy (due south of Innsbruck) before a week off. The tour will resume in Deutschnofen, Italy to end the month of January before heading to Romania for a double event: The tour’s fifth World Cup stop followed immediately by World Championships. Currently, the World Cup races are scheduled for February 8 and 9, with World Championships to follow on February 10 through 12.
The season will end with the sixth World Cup race of the season, held in Umhausen, Austria.
As always, the schedule is subject to change. The second stop of the tour will be announced in due time, keep an eye on this space for more information as it becomes available.
