From Deutschnofen, ITA
(January 29, 2022) – Italy’s Evelin Lanthaler continued her perfect start to the season by winning gold in Deutschnofen.
Lanthaler was the quickest off the top in both heats and had the two quickest runs of the race on her way to a .7 second victory over Russia’s Ekaterina Lavrenteva.
Lavrenteva won silver, her best finish of the season, while Greta Pinggera won bronze, her fourth medal in as many races.
Austria’s Tina Unterberger finished in fourth, ahead of Germany’s Lisa Walch in fifth.
Italy’s Daniela Mittermair rounded out the top six.
Germany put two sliders in the top ten with a ninth place finish by Sara Bachmann.
With two races in the FIL World Cup season, Evelin Lanthaler holds a 105 point lead over Lisa Walch and Greta Pinggera, who are tied for second.
