(January 23, 2022) – Evelin Lanthaler continued her mastery of the women’s natural track luge ranks with a definitive win in Vatra Dornei.
Lanthaler set the two quickest times of the race to win her 11th straight women’s luge race, winning by just over a full second.
Italy’s Greta Pinggera won a silver medal, her first of the season, as the only woman within two seconds of her teammate.
Germany’s Lisa Walch, silver medalist in the first two races of the season, finished with a bronze medal in third. She finished over a full second ahead of Austria’s Tina Unterberger in fourth.
Daniela Mittermaier helped put three Italians in the top five with a fifth place finish, while Michelle Diepold edged out Sara Bachmann to round out the top six.
