From Lake Placid, USA
(December 13, 2021) – Canada’s Alysia Rissling set new start and track records in women’s monobob action in Lake Placid, beating out Australia’s Ashleigh Werner for top honors.
In the first heat Rissling lowered he track record to a 57.56. In the second heat she dropped the start record to 5.94. The end result was a .49 second victory over the field in Lake Placid.
The win was the sixth straight in Women’s Monobob World Series action for Rissling.
Behind Rissling, Australia’s Ashleigh Werner jumped up from fourth place in the first heat to finish in second, nearly a half second ahead of Canada’s Bianca Ribi in third. For Werner, the silver medal was her first in the Monobob World Series. Ribi’s bronze was also a personal best in MWS action.
The United States’ Nicole Vogt jumped up from fifth to fourth in the second heat, leapfrogging Jazmine Fenlator-Victorian in fifth. Carrie Russell rounded out the top six.
The United States put two women in the top seven, with Brittany Reinbolt finishing seventh.
