(December 13, 2021) – Germany’s Susanne Kreher padded her Intercontinental Cup point lead with a gold medal in Sigula.
Kreher had two top-five starts on her way to the quick run in both heats and a .4 second victory over the United States’ Savannah Graybill.
Graybill found herself sandwiched between two German sliders, with Stefanie Votz finishing third behind her, .17 back.
The gold for Kreher was her third of the ICC season and fourth straight medal. For Graybill, the silver medal was her best ICC finish since Lake Placid during the 2016/2017 season and her best ever finish in Europe.
Canada’s Hallie Clarke finished fourth, just a tenth of a second out of the medals, while Latvia’s Darta Zunte finished fifth. Great Britain’s Amelia Coltman finished sixth.
With two races left in the Intercontinental Cup season, Susanne Kreher has a commanding lead in the season points. Hallie Clarke sits second, 58 points back. Savannah Graybill is third, another 58 points back.
The United States’ Kendall Wesenberg and Sara Roderick finished 11th and 12th, respectively. Roderick had the two fastest starts of the competition.
Madi Charney finished 13th to round out the Canadian effort, while Liechtenstein’s Katharina Eigenmann finished 16th.
