(December 11, 2021 ) – Yooran Kim and Viktoria Cernanska battled for gold while the rest of the field looked on, and it was Kim who took gold.
Cernanska had the edge at the start, setting two quick starts to take the lead early. After one run, though, it was Yooran Kim with the advantage by .02.
On the second run Cernanska easily slid into the lead by over a full second, with only Kim to go. Despite being out-started by .14, Kim out-slid Cernanska to take the lead and the victory by just .06 over two heats.
Romania’s Georgeta Popescu won her first bronze medal, 1.18 seconds behind Kim.
Linda Weiszewski finished a career-best fourth, while Lidiia Hunko and Giada Andreutti rounded out the top six.
