From Igls, AUT
(December 3, 2021) – The United States’ Mystique Ro crushed the competition in Igls and cruised to her first ever European Cup gold medal.
Ro set the fast start time of the race in the first heat, and had the fastest two runs on the race on her way to a .83 second victory over Germany’s Sarah Wimmer. In Ro’s first heat she had the quickest split at every timing line along the way.
Ro’s gold was her fourth overall, with her previous three coming in North American Cup action.
Wimmer was second in both heats on her way to silver, just ahead of Great Britain’s Amelia Kellyman, who finished a career-best third.
Russia took the next two spots, with Anastasiia Tsyganova and Polina Tiurina finishing fourth and fifth, respectively. Germany’s Selina Frohberger rounded out the top six.
Great Britain put both women in the top eight, with Freya Tarbit in eighth place. The United States’ Michelle Toukan finished 17th.
