2012 FIBT World Championships – Four-Man Bobsled – Heat 1

From Lake Placid, USA

Max Arndt and Germany 1 lead after the first heat.  A clean run on top of a quick push puts the German team .15 ahead of second place Steven Holcomb.  The American finds himself in familiar territory, having finished heat 1 a few tenths off the pace in two-man.  Holcomb went on to win gold.

There’s a tie for the bronze position, with Alexsandr Zubkov and Manuel Machata tied, .19 back.  Edwin Van Calker of the Netherlands sits fifth.

Americans John Napier and Nick Cunningham are 8th and 15th, respectively, while the Canadian sled of Lyndon Rush is 11th.  Justin Kripps and Canada 2 has been disqualified for being over weight, and the French team did not start.
