2012 FIBT World Championships – Men’s Skeleton – Heat 1

From Lake Placid, USA

The surprise after heat 1 from Lake Placid isn’t that there’s a lead for Martins Dukurs, but that the lead is as small as it is.  Dukurs had a very bumpy run down Mt. Van Hoevenberg, but the Latvian was still able to establish a lead over German Frank Rommel.  It’s .23 from first to second,  with the elder Dukurs, Tomass, third.

American Matt Antoine sits fourth, just ahead of kiwi Ben Sandford.

John Daly for team USA is 11th, while Canadians Fairbairn, Douglas and Neilson sit T-8th, 13th, and 15th.
