From Altenberg, GER
(November 26, 2021) – Richard Oelsner won his second straight 2-man bobsled race of the season, beating out teammate Jonas Jannusch for gold.
Oelsner and brakeman Georg Fleischhauer set the quick time of the race in the first heat to open up a .16 lead over Switzerland’s Timo Rohner. On the second run Oelsner was second quickest, but fast enough to hold onto gold. Jannusch finished second with Benedikt Hertel on his brakes, while Alexey Stulnev and Alexander Efimov finished third.
Max Illmann, Michael Kuonen, and Timo Rohner rounded out the top six.
Liechtenstein’s Martin Kranz and Ralf Beck finished a season-best 14th.
