Kreher Sweeps Park City ICC Stop

From Park City, USA

(November 24, 2021) – Germany’s Susanne Kreher won her second straight Intercontinental Cup race in Park City, sweeping the stop’s two races on the 2002 Olympic track.

Kreher carried a slim .02 second lead over teammate Sophia Griebel heading into the second heat, with Brazil’s Nicole Silveira lingering in third place.

On the second run Griebel slid into the lead with only Kreher to go. Kreher was once again quicker than everyone, only .06 faster than Griebel but enough to take her second straight ICC gold.

Griebel finished second, ahead of Silveira in third.

The United States’ Savannah Graybill finished just .12 out of the medals in fourth, .15 ahead of Haillie Clarke in fifth, while Kendall Wesenberg helped put two Americans in the top six with a sixth place finish.

It was a decent showing all around for the North Americans in Park City. Canada’s Madi Charney finished tenth, while USA’s Sara Roderick finished one spot back in 11th.

Sweden’s Leslie Stratton finished 13th on the strength of a strong second run, while Katie Tannenbaum moved up from 18th to 16th on her second run.

Amelia Coltman finished 18th for Great Britain.
