From Park City, USA
(November 23, 2021) – Alysia Rissling won yet another gold to start her season, cruising to victory on the 2002 Olympic track in Park City.
Rissling could not have been much more consistent in the Park City monobob race, as she set both the two quickest start times of the event and matched them with a pair of 51.80 downtimes to win by .66 over the USA’s Brittany Reinbolt. Nicole Vogt, back from multiple injuries sustained in Whistler, finished with a bronze medal in third.
The win for Rissling was her seventh of the season across monobob and two-woman bobsled, while the silver for Reinbolt was her sixth over that same time. Reinbolt’s only non-silver this season was a bronze in Whistler monobob action.
Jazmine Fenlator-Victorian finished fourth, ahead of Canada’s Bianca Ribi and Brazil’s Marina Silva Tuono. Ribi moved up from sixth to fifth on the strength of the third quickest run in heat number two.
Tran Thi Doan Trang of Vietnam and Keomororkot Kong of Cambodia finished eighth and ninth in their first IBSF Monobob World Series event. Prior to racing in Park City, both sliders had competed in last season’s IBSF Sanctioned Race series in Pyeongchang.
