From Park City, USA
(November 20, 2021) – Felix Seibel stayed perfect on his North American Cup season, winning his second straight race in Park City.
The German slider set the quick time by nearly a half second over the field. While his second run was only the third quickest of the heat, it was still plenty enough to give him the victory on the 2002 Olympic track.
Russia’s Daniil Romanov put down the quickest run of the second heat to jump up from fourth to second, while Lukas Nydegger held onto his position to win bronze.
The United States’ Andrew Blaser went into the second heat in second place, but fell to fourth in the second run. Teammate Stephen Garbett finished fifth, while Italy’s Manuel Schwärzer rounded out the to six.
For the second time in two races, two-time NAC champion Ander Mirambell finished seventh, one spot ahead of the top finishing Canadian, Jimmie Airey.
Canada put two sleds in the top ten, with Ryan Kuehn finishing tenth. Kuehn’s teammates David Park and Troy Wilson finished 16th and 17th, respectively.
Daniel Barefoot finished 11th for the United States, while Bradley Nicol finished 27th in his first NAC race.
