From Whistler, CAN
(November 14, 2021) – Russia’s Evgeniy Rukosuev won his second race in as many days in Whistler, cruising to Intercontinental Cup gold in Whistler.
Rukosuev was the quickest off the top in the first heat, and opened up a .31 second advantage over Austria’s Alexander Schlintner after one heat. On the second run Rukosuev was again the fastest off the top of all the medal contenders, and cruised to a .66 second victory over Schlintner.
Schlintner finished second, well ahead of Great Britain’s Ben Fulker in third.
Germany took the next two spots, with Lukas Nydegger and Felix Seibel sitting fourth and fifth, while the United States’ Andrew Blaser rounded out the top six.
Canada put one slider in the top ten with Kyle Murray finishing tenth. Teammate Blake Enzie finished four spots back in 14th.
For the Americans, Stephen Garbett just missed out on a top ten with an 11th place finish. Teammate Daniel Barefoot finished 20th.
