(November 12, 2021) – Germany’s Richard Oelsner edged out Switzerland’s Michael Kuonen for gold in the second race of the European Cup season.
Oelsner led Kuonen by just .08 after the first heat. On the second run Kuonen was again quick as he moved into the lead with only the German to go. Oelsner once again was quicker, finishing his second run a quarter of a second ahead of Kuonen for his first gold of the season.
Kuonen and teammate Cedric Follador finished second and third, just ahead of Race 1 gold medalist Adam Dobes of the Czech Republic.
Monaco’s Rudy Rinaldi finished fifth, with Switzerland’s Timo Rohner rounding out the top six.
Great Britain’s Adam Baird finished just out of the top six in seventh place, teammate John Stanbridge finished 14th.
Lichtenstein’s Martin Kranz finished 17th.
