From Whistler, CAN
(November 9, 2021) – Taylor Austin won his third straight North American Cup two-man bobsled race to open the 2021/2022 season, once again beating out Frank Del Duca for top honors.
The Canadian pilot opened up a .2 second advantage over the American in the first heat. On the second run Del Duca took the lead with only Austin to go, but Austin was once again too much for the field, with the Canadian winning by .6 over the field.
Del Duca and brakeman Adrian Adams set the fast start in each heat on their way to a silver medal, while South Korea’s Youngjin Suk took bronze.
Geoff Gadbois finished just out of the medals in fourth, edging out China’s Chunjian Li for the spot. Canada’s Pat Norton finished sixth.
