(Mar. 16, 2021) – The International Luge Federation (FIL) released its 2020/2021 World Cup schedule, featuring nine World Cup races, a European Championship in St. Moritz, and the 2022 Olympic Games.
The season will kick off with an international training week prior to the World Cup opener in Yanqing, host of the 2022 Olympic sliding program. From there, the tour will head across the Pacific Ocean for two races in North America. Whistler will host the second race of the tour before the FIL moves to the United States for a race either in Park City or Lake Placid (to be determined). The pre-Christmas portion of the season wraps up with two races in Europe, in Altenberg and Igls.
As is tradition, the new year starts off in Königssee for Race #6, before going to Sigulda and Oberhof. For the second time in as many years St. Moritz will have the honor of hosting the World Cup finale, and this time the European Championships as well.
The dates below are the Saturday/Sunday dates, with some possibilities of races being held on a Friday/Saturday in North America or China.
