From Lake Placid, USA
Kaillie Humprhies, Jennifer Ciochetti and their Canada 1 sled are all within one run of winning the 2012 World Championships. Showing little signs of faltering anywhere on any of her three runs, she was only beaten today by .01 by second place Germany 3. Sandra Kiriasis has managed to improve on each run, but she’s got four tenths of a second to make up, which is a tall task considering Humprhies’ great driving this weekend.
The team of Elana Meyers and Katie Eberling sit third, .69 out. They’re solidly ahead of fourth place Cathleen Martini, who is looking to put two German sleds on the podium. Helen Upperton has put the second Canadian sled in the top five, but is a full second out of the lead.
American Jazmine Fenlator was very unhappy with her run, but has held her position in 9th, as has her teammate Bree Schaaf, who sits 12th after a frustrating third run.
