(Jan. 14, 2021) – Philipp Zielasko led a German sweep of the podium in European Cup action in Igls.
Zielasko’s team was the fastest off the top in both heats, and were the quickest at every split on their way to a half-second victory over teammate Jonas Jannusch. Max Illmann completed the German sweep of the podium in third.
The three German pilots were the three fastest in both heats.
Latvian Davis Kaufmanis finished just outside of the medals in fourth place as the top non-German. Russia’s Aleksandr Bredikhin and Switzerland’s MIchael Kuonen rounded out the top six in the 16 sled field.
Jamaica’s Shanwayne Stephens finished 15th in his first four-man race in Europe.
