(Dec. 9, 2020) The International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) announced on Wednesday their abbreviated schedule for the IBSF Para World Cup tour.
The tour, which generally consists of ten races across five stops, had been halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The IBSF Executive Committee announced that the Para World Cup will race three World Cup races in St. Moritz from February 14-26, and another two in La Plagne from March 1-3. Further, the IBSF Para World Championships will be held in St. Moritz during that first stop with the championships being held from the February 21-26.
In a statement released by the IBSF, president Ivo Ferriani said “The COVID-19 pandemic is a challenge for all of us, especially for organizing committees to host events. It is with great pleasure to see that St. Moritz and La Plagne can host our Para Bobsleigh World Cup and World Championships despite the difficult circumstance. It shows the great commitment towards Para sport.”
Official race dates and times will be announced at a later date.
