From St. Moritz, Switzerland
Let’s face it, there’s only person harder to beat than Martins Dukurs, and that’s Angry Martins Dukurs. After an awful run at Königssee, Dukurs was on the skeleton warpath, and destroyed everything en route to a gold medal in St. Moritz. His time of 2:17.45 was 1.76 seconds ahead of second place Ben Sandford. American Matt Antoine finishes third with two great pushes and consistent runs. Tomass Dukurs and Frank Rommel tie for fourth.
In general it was a great day for the American men, with John Daly finishing sixth and Kyle Tress eighth. Tress overcame a bumpy start in run 1 with a clean finish and entirely clean second run.
As good of a day as it was for the Americans, the Canadians will be very happy to leave St. Moritz. John Fairbain had potential for a top five run, but a forgettable second run dropped him to ninth, while Michael Douglas and Eric Neilson finish 17th and 18th, respectively.
