FIBT World Cup – Round 5 – Two-Man Bobsled

From Königssee, Germany

The less-than-favorable weather conditions managed to vanish for the final heat on Saturday, leading to a collective drop in times almost across the board.

Beat Hefti in SUI1 set the fast time in both heats, with a 49.87 being the run that made the difference.  Behind him, the Canadian team of Rush & Lumsden were the only team in shouting distance.  The GER 2 sled of Machata/Bredau.

Some bad luck in the S turns cost a couple teams position, as Melbardis and Holcomb both suffered from big slides, putting them to 9th and 10th, respectively.

The Baumann/Baumann swiss sled finishes fourth, making it the best finish for the season for them, while the Russian sled of Zubkov/Trunenkov finish fifth.

American John Napier had his best single run of the season with his second run. He finished 12th.
