From Altenberg, Germany
Maxmillian Arndt had never won a World Cup gold medal until this morning’s four-man event in Altenberg. Arndt and his GER 2 team set the fast push times in both heats, dominating the race at just about every point on the track, winning by over a half-second. The RUS1 sled took second, while Thomas Florschuetz takes third despite an injured foot, edging the Latvians by .01.
Tough day for USA athletes, with USA 1 finishing 9th and USA 2 16.
