From Altenberg, Germany
On the toughest German track, it was expected that the German women would sweep the podium. The teams of Martini/Tischer and Kiriasis/Lammert did manage a first-second sweep, but the Swiss team of Meyer/Schenk continued their solid 2011/2012 season in Germany with a bronze medal.
The third German sled of Schneiderheinze/Senkel finished fourth, with the lone USA entry of Schaaf/Azevedo finishing in the top five. A bumpy run from Austria 1 moved Hengster/Versen from fifth to sixth.
