With the top 6 sleds all within .18 of each other, the smoothest second run would win the day. When all was said and done, it was a German sweep of the podium. Manuel Machata set the fast time in both runs, while Arndt and Florschuetz led the rest of the field. After the .24 lead from first to second, it was just .09 from silver to 7th place.
“Got about 9 hours of sleep, the boys did a good job pushing today,” said Machata on his Sunday afternoon in France. It’s the first gold of the 2011/2012 campaign for the Germany 3 sled.
USA 1 and Holcomb finishes sixth, while CAN 2 and Spring finishes 9th.
