From La Plagne, France
Germany’s Anja Huber can go into almost any track that she knows well and is considered a favorite. Today she could only muster a fourth place finish. While many of the top 10 had faster (or at least similar times) from their first run, Huber lost .2 from her first time, and found herself on the outside looking in.
That left room for the North Americans, who found themselves dominating a track that hasn’t been slid on much in the past decade. Melissa Hollingsworth from Canada takes gold, while Americans Anne O’Shea and Katie Uhlaender took silver and bronze. The race was the first back for Uhlaender after missing last week for a weight lifting competition.
