From Königssee, GER
Much like in four-man bobsled, the skeleton fields for this weekend are the largest of the season at the top level of the sport, with 44 men and 31 women taking part in the 2017 World Championships. Across the two fields, 32 nations are represented across five continents.
In women’s skeleton, 31 women will take part in the World Championships. Russia will field four women, with Yulia Kanakina as the automatic qualifier from the Junior World Championships. On the men’s side, 44 men will compete, with Russia again getting a fourth entry in Nikita Tregybov.
