From Lillehammer, NOR
The United States won its first para-bobsled race of the season, with Barry Schroeder winning in Lillehammer.
Schroeder came into the second heat .09 behind Latvian Alvis Brants. Schroeder put down a great run when it was needed, though, and finished the second heat .29 ahead of Brants.
Brants finished second, ahead of 2015/2016 World Cup champion Lonnie Bissonnette, who brought home a bronze for Canada.
Brian McPherson finished fourth in the second Canadian sled, while Kenneth Jørgensen and Jason Sturm rounded out the top six.
It was a good day overall for the North Americans. Aside from two American and two Canadian sleds in the top six, Dave Nicholls scored a ninth place finish for the United States. Aaron Lanningham and Joshua Merryman rounded out the American effort in 14th and 17th, respectively.
Corie Mapp finished seventh in Great Britain’s only entry.
