From Atlanta, USA
The International Luge Federation has released their 2016/2017 World Cup schedule, with the season featuring nine World Cup events in five nations, and World Championships taking place in Igls, Austria.
The season will kick off in Winterberg in November, before moving to North America for three events in December. The tour will move back to Europe, with the first event of 2017 in Königssee acting as the European Championships. The tour will once again leave Europe to head to PyeongChang, South Korea for a trial run on the Olympic track (also counting as a World Cup stop) before finishing the season in Altenberg.
While not laid out in the schedule released on May 23, six Team Relay and three Sprint World Cups are planned for the coming season as well.
As with last season, the World Cup will have Viessmann as the title sponsor, with both Team Relays and Sprint World Cups presented by BMW.
A schedule for the FIL Natural Track World Cup will be released later this summer.
