From Königssee, GER
Francesco Friedrich made it three wins in three attempts in 2015/2016, as the German shattered the Königssee track record on the way to another gold medal. Friedrich had the fastest push, and the fastest drive in each heat to finish just over a quarter-second ahead of Latvian Oskars Melbardis. Melbardis had the second fastest run in each heat, but was unable to close the gap between himself and the German.
Nico Walther made it two Germans on the podium in the bronze position, just .01 ahead of Canadian Justin Kripps. Rico Peter finished .02 behind Kripps in fifth, while Yunjong Won rounded out the top six in sixth.
Steven Holcomb is slowly getting back to form after a leg injury hampered him in the first two races of the season. The American Olympic medalist and former World Champion finished seventh, just .01 ahead of teammate Nick Cunningham. The pair finished .15 and .16 outside of a medal position.
Bradley Hall scored a top 20 in his first World Cup event in 20th place. Teammate Bruce Tasker finished tied for 22nd with Canadian Chris Spring.
