From Park City, USA
For the second time in as many weeks, the American women flexed their muscle on home ice, this time taking the top two spots in Park City.
Summer Britcher put down the fast run in both runs to score her first ever World Cup gold medal, ahead of teammate Erin Hamlin, who backs up her Lake Placid gold medal with a silver in Park City on the strength of a second-fastest second run.
Unlike the race in Lake Placid, Germany does find the podium with a bronze medal effort by Dajana Eitberger. Eitberger took advantage of a rough second run by Canadian Alex Gough to move into the bronze position, while teammate Natalie Geisenberger finished fourth. Emily Sweeney missed another medal in the USA, but did manage another top five finish. Gough held on for sixth place.
Raychel Germaine was the top-finishing Nations Cup qualifier, making it four Americans in the top ten with her ninth place finish. Kimberley McRae finished 14th, meaning every North American sled finished within the top 15.
