East Meadow (RWH) Bob pilot Sandra Kiriasis (GER) has been been nominated and named as a finalist for one of the Women’s Sports Foundation’s 2011 Sportswoman of the Year Awards, as was reported in a Foundation’s press release.
The Olympic Champion of 2006 and three times World Champion Sandra Kiriasis was nominated in recognition of her “exceptional achievements over the past 12 months”.
Sportswoman of the Year voting has already begun and will conclude midnight E.S.T., September 5, 2011. To cast their vote, fans visit Facebook.com/WomensSportsFoundation. The winners will be determined by a combination of the public vote (50%) and the Women’s Sports Foundation’s Awards Committee’s vote (50%). The winners will be the two athletes – one individual finalist and one team finalist – who receive the highest combined share of the public vote and the Awards Committee’s vote.
