From La Plagne, FRA
The women’s bobsled race in La Plagne was the European Championships as well as Race 6 of the FIBT World Cup. The North Americans crashed the party, though, and swept the top four spots.
Elana Meyers Taylor had the fastest run in both heats, cruising to victory ahead of teammate Jamie Greubel Poser. The Americans were joined on the podium with Canadian Kaillie Humphries, who took bronze.
Jazmine Fenlator took fourth, but had the third fastest run down in Run 2 to move up from eighth. Her run made it three American sleds with the three fastest runs in the second run. Anja Schneiderheinze finished fifth.
With her fifth place finish, Schneiderheinze took gold in the European Championships, ahead of teammates Cathleen Martini and Stefanie Szczurek.
