From St. Moritz, SUI
Oskars Melbardis set a track record in St. Moritz, taking the gold medal in four-man bobsled and maintaining the World Cup point lead in the process.
The Latvian pilot was quickest in both heats, leading the way ahead of a three-sled challenge from Germany. Francesco Friedrich took silver, just ahead of Max Arndt, who took bronze. Nico Walther finishes just outside the podium in fourth, Simone Bertazzo scores the best run for Italy in recent memory with a fifth place finish.
It was a tough day for the Americans, with Codie Bascue leading the way in 12th. Teammates Steven Holcomb and Nick Cunningham finished just behind in 14th and 16th, respectively.
In general, it was a rough weekend for North American. On the Canadian side, Chris Spring led the way in 17th. Kaillie Humphries finished 19th, while Justin Kripps finished just outside of the second run in 21st. Olly Biddulph and Lamin Deen finished 22nd and 23rd for Great Britain, respectively.
