From Winterberg, Germany
Martins Dukurs had a bad race in Lake Placid, finishing outside of the top five. A few weeks off and time to to think about it, coupled with returning to Europe and a rainy Winterberg, and there was absolutely nothing stopping the Latvian today. After one heat it was already a .71 advantage over American Matt Antoine. Antoine would drop a couple spots, and Dukurs would win by well over a second. The final gap was 1.19 over brother Tomass Dukurs, while Russian Alexander Tretyakov took third. Antoine would finish fourth, while John Daly scored his second top five in as many races for the USA.
Kyle Tress had another solid run, finishing tied for 11th place with Dominic Parsons of Great Britain. Parsons’ countrymen Kristan Bromley and Ed Smith finished 13th and 22nd respectively.
The Canadians had another consistent day, with John Fairbairn leading the way with yet another top 10, this time in ninth place. Eric Neilson finished 16th, while Dave Greszczyszyn took 20th.
