From Lake Placid, USA
Kaillie Humphries had an awful week last week in Park City, USA. This week, the Canadian made up for it, setting a track record at Lake Placid in the process of taking gold. Humphries had to hold off a small army of Americans, with Elana Meyers, Jamie Greubel and Jazmine Fenlator finishing second, third and fourth behind her. Meyers came into the second run just .02 behind Humphries, but couldn’t out-run the 2012 FIBT champion. German Cathleen Martini finished fifth.
Fellow Canadian Jennifer Ciochetti finished 14th, while Paula Walker led the way for Great Britain in 13th. Teammates Mica McNeill and Victoria Olaoye finished 18th and 19th, respectively.
