From Lake Placid, USA
For the second consecutive week, Noelle Pikus-Pace came away the gold medalist, leaving no doubt that the American is going to be a force to contend with in Sochi. Pikus-Pace had the fastest run in heat 1 and the second quickest run in heat 2 to take gold over a very quick Anja Huber and point-leader Lizzy Yarnold. Yarnold had the fastest run in the second heat to put the British slider on the podium next to the German, Huber. Katharine Eustace had a season-beset run in fourth place for New Zealand, while Marion Thees put two German sleds in the top five, finishing fifth.
Katie Uhlaender continues to try to find her stride again after an injury, finishing 14th for the US.
Making her first start on the World Cup tour this year, Mellisa Hollingsworth was the top-finishing Canadian in 8th, with Sarah Reid finishing a season-worst 14th and Robynne Thompson finishing 18th.
Great Britain slider Shelley Rudman entered the second heat in ninth place, but finished sixth after a fantastic second run, while Donna Creighton finished 16th.
