From Park City, USA
Steven Holcomb made it three wins in as many races between two and four-man bobsled, setting the fastest time in both heats today in Park City. Using two strong pushes from himself and brakeman Christopher Fogt, Holcomb never trailed, not even at the start. He had some stiff competition from teammate Nick Cunningham, who takes his first medal of the year in silver, while Francesco Friedrich becomes the first German to win a medal in the 2013/2014 FIBT season, taking bronze. Despite a snowy run that led to an eighth place position after run 1, Cory Butner rallied back to place all three US sleds in the top four, while Beat Hefti took a fifth place finish.
The Canadian sleds all finished in the top 12, with Lyndon Rush piloting his sled to a sixth place finish. Justin Kripps continued to improve, finishing eighth, while a disappointing first run left Chris Spring 12th. John Jackson of Great Britain finished 23rd.
