2013/2014 FIL World Cup – Race 2 – Team Relay 1

Germany continued its domination of the races in Igls, edging the Canadians, Italians and Americans by under .750 seconds.  The team of Geisenberger, Loch and Eggert/Benecken had the fastest women’s and doubles runs of the race to take gold in the first relay race of the season.  The Canadian team of Gough, Edney and Walker/Snith finished .374 for silver, while Gasparini, Fischnaller and Oberstolz/Gruber of Italy finished just under a half-second back for bronze.

The American team of Hamlin, Mazdzer and Niccum/Terdiman had three strong runs but finished about a quarter of a second out of the medals.
