From Sigulda, LAT
(January 31, 2025) – Inola Blatty won her second straight race in Sigulda as she dominated the field on her way to a .95 second victory over teammate Selina Isler.
Blatty outstarted everyone in the first heat and carried just a .09 second advantage over Czechia’s Patricia Tajcnarova, with Isler well back in third.
In the second heat, Isler out-slid Tajcnarova by .69 to take the lead by a tenth over the Czech slider with only Blatty to go.
Blatty’s second effort was slower than her first, but still more than enough to win handily over Isler and Tajcnarova, with Isler the only slider with a full second.
Blatty’s win was her second straight, while Isler’s silver was her best finish of the season. Tajcnarova’s bronze was her third straight medal in four races.
Spain’s Leanna Garcia was fourth, a career-best, while Georgeta Popescu was fifth, with Latvia’s Amelija Kotane rounding out the top six.
The Netherlands’ Robin Post and Jamaica’s Mica Moore rounded out the field.
