(February 1, 2025) – It was another dominating Europe Cup women’s skeleton performance for Julia Erlacher, as she slid to victory for the third straight race, this time winning by over a full second.
Erlacher once again outstarted nearly everyone and had a .24 second lead over the previous day’s silver medalist in Viktoria Hansova, with USA’s Michelle Toukan in third, .33 back.
In the second heat Toukan nearly matched her first heat slide to take the lead from Austria’s Annia Unterscheider. Toukan held her spot as Hansova struggled in her second run and fell behind the American by over two tenths of a second.
The final slider was Erlacher, the Europe Cup leader. She picked up .06 on her start, and was .18 quicker at the bottom to win by over a second over Toukan to both win the race and the season title one race early.
Toukan took silver as her strong season continued, and Hansova bronze.
Unterschedier was fourth, Germany’s Stefanie Votz fifth, and Latvia’s Darta Neimane sixth, two hundredths ahead of Anna Saulite, who had the second quickest run of the race to slide to seventh from tenth.
Great Britain’s Isabella Fassnidge was 16th, with teammate Regan Walker in 19th.
With one race remaining in the 2024/2025 Europe Cup skeleton season, Julia Erlacher is the 2024/2025 champion. Viktoria Hansova is 44 points ahead of Annia Unterscheider in third, with Michelle Toukan only 14 points behind Unterscheider in fourth.
