From Lake Placid, USA
(January 26, 2025) – Yooran Kim and Eunji Yeon slid to their second gold medal of the 2024/2025 IBSF North American Cup season as they held off four North American teams for top honors.
The pair slid to a .16 second lead over Canada’s Kristen Bujnowski and Charlotte Ross after the first heat, with Erica Voss and Eden Wilson in third, .18 back.
In the second heat, Voss slid to the lead ahead of Riley Tejcek and Lauryn Hill by .38, and then moved up one spot after some trouble in the bottom part of Bujnowski’s second effort placed her behind USA’s Lauren Brzozowski and Jestena Mattson.
Kim and Jeon nearly matched their first push time, and Kim once again had the quick downtime of the heat on her way to a .47 second victory over Voss, with Tejcek in third, .85 out of the lead.
Brzozowski was fourth, Bujnowski fifth, while Taiwan Sin-Rong Lin and Wei-Ching Chang were sixth.
Jamaica’s Adanna Johnson and Rushana Mills were seventh and Agnese Campeol and Phaethong Wannakhot eighth for Thailand.
With one race remaining in the North American Cup season, Bujnowski has clinched the 2024/2025 North American Cup two-woman bobsled title. Agnese Campeol is second, 22 points ahead of Riley Tejcek, with Erica Voss fourth. Bianca Ribi, who has moved to the World Cup is fifth. With a pair of clean runs on Monday either Sin-Rong Lin or Adanna Johnson will move into fifth place overall.
