From Lake Placid, USA
(January 26, 2025) – Kris Horn and his team of Josh Williamson, Hakeem Abdul-Saboor and Adrian Adams dominated the penultimate race of the 2024/2025 North American Cup season. The team had the two fastest starts of the race, and Horn the quick drive of each heat on their way to a .55 second victory over South Korea’s Youngjin Suk.
Horn slid to a .35 second advantage in the first heat over Suk, with teammate Geoff Gadbois in third, .08 behind Suk. The second heat saw Gadbois close the gap to Suk, but Suk’s second effort was just enough to move into the lead by .02 over the American.
Horn’s squad gave him another strong push, and Horn rewarded them with another clean drive on their way to victory, with Suk silver and Gadbois bronze.
The win for Horn was his fourth in five four-man races this season. Suk’s silver was his best effort of his three races on the year, while Gadbois’s bronze was his fourth medal in five races.
Edson Bindilatti was fourth, two tenths out of silver. Jay Dearborn was the top Canadian in fifth, while Shane Fisher rounded out the top six.
Grady Mercer rounded out the American effort in seventh.
With one race to go in the North American Cup four-man season, Edson Bindilatti leads Jay Darborn by 86 points and likely just needs to finish two runs upright to claim the season title. Kris Horn is third, Cyrus Gray fourth, and Geoff Gadbois fifth.
