From St. Moritz, Switzerland
Kaillie Humphries defends her championship with ease, setting a track record on her final run in the process. The tight logjam for silver was settled with Americans Elana Meyers and Katie Eberling setting a push record for St. Moritz to take silver, and Sandra Kirasis making a small mistake to fall from silver to bronze. Germans Cathleen Martini and Anja Schneiderheinze round out the top five.
“It’s been a great three years. Had some ups and downs and continuing from success in Vancouver,” said Humphries on her world title.
It was a mixed bag of heats for Jazmine Fenlator. Her first and third runs were mostly forgettable, but the second and four runs were quick and clean with solid pushes, and that leaves the American in 8th. Teammate Jamie Greubel will finish 15th.
Paula Walker overcame knee trouble to move up and finish 14th, while teammates Victoria Olaoye and Mica McNeill finish 17th and 20th respectively. Canadian pilot Jennifer Ciochetti finishes 18th.
