From Lake Placid, USA
(January 24, 2025) – Canada swept the North American Cup monobob season with a victory in the season finale in Lake Placid.
For the eighth time in eight races, they went one-two, this time with Kristen Bujnowski winning from the first starting position. She slid to a .37 second lead over South Korea’s Yooran Kim, with teammate Erica Voss just a hundredth behind Kim in third.
In the second heat, Voss took the lead from USA’s Riley Tejcek, and then held it as Kim couldn’t match her first effort and slid to what would eventually be bronze.
Bujnowski’s second start was the quickest of the race, and she once again had the quick time at every split on her way to a .64 second victory over Voss, with Kim in third, .79 back.
The win was the fourth for Bujnowski on the season in monobob, while Voss’s silver was her eighth finish of first or second on the season.
Tejcek was fourth, ahead of Taiwan’s Sin-Rong Lin in fifth, with Latvia’s Amelija Kotane sixth.
With her silver medal, Voss won the season title by 100 points over Bujnowski. Tejcek finished the season in third. Agnese Campeol was the top junior in fourth, with Amelija Kotane in fifth.
