(January 18, 2025) – Kendall Wesenberg remained perfect since returning to action after a season away.
In the first heat, Wesenberg took the lead from Puerto Rico’s Kellie Delka from the second starting spot and held that lead for the remainder of the heat.
In the second heat, Great Britain’s Isabella Fassnidge slid to the lead to guarantee herself a medal, but was bumped from the top spot by Delka a minute later.
Wesenberg, who held a quarter of a second advantage after the first heat, added another .2 to her lead to slide to a .45 second victory over Delka, with Fassnidge over a second back in third.
Wesenberg has yet to lose a heat on the season, now ten-for-ten across five races.
Guanshuo Wang of China was fourth, ahead of Columbia’s Laura Vargas in fifth.
USA’s Sha’Londa Terry was sixth.
Terry’s teammate, Hannah Gaskins, tied with the US Virgin Islands’ Katie Tannenbaum for seventh, while Logan Wudi was 11th and Liesel Baker 12th to round out the American effort.
Vietnam’s Khanh Nguyen made her first NAC appearance in four years and finished 14th, one spot ahead of Canada’s Mackenzie Adams in 15th.
