Zern Leads 4-Man German Sweep in Lillehammer EC

From Lillehammer, NOR

(January 19, 2025) – A day after being denied a sweep of the podium by Romain Heinrich, Germany swept the top four spots in Lillehammer in four-man bobsled.

Laurin Zern’s squad gave him the quick start in both heats, and Zern had the best drive in both heats on his way to a nearly half of a second victory over Alexander Czudaj. Czudaj was another quarter of a second ahead of Tobias Dostthaler, who won his second straight bronze medal in Lillehammer.

Dostthaler came into the second heat tied with Moritz Bollmann, but out-drove his teammate to secure bronze.

Bollmann took fourth by .12 ahead of Latvia’s Renars Grantins, with Nils Reich in sixth.

Nick Gleeson finished 11th for the second straight race for Great Britain.
