(January 18, 2025) – Germany’s Charlotte Candrix dominated the two-woman bobsled race in Lillehammer on Saturday as she beat Swiss pilot Inola Blatty for gold.

Candrix and brakewoman Lena Brunnhübner were out-started in the first heat by teammates Maureen Zimmer and Carolin Kupsch, but that was the only split they were beaten at throughout the course of the two heat race.

Candrix had a .36 second advantage over Blatty and Noemi Beutler after the first heat, with Zimmer a half of a second back in third. In the second heat she once again out-slid Blatty by another .4 to win by over three quarters of a second ahead of Blatty, and nearly a full second ahead of Zimmer.

The win was Candrix’s third straight in two-woman bobsled dating back to the 2023/2024 season.

Blatty took silver, while Zimmer won bronze.

Patricia Tajcnarova and Kristyna Migova slid to fourth place, .19 ahead of Selina Isler and Andrea Schlatter in fifth. Simona de Silvestro and Giulia Chenet were sixth in the eight sled field.

Mica Moore made her two-woman bobsled debut for Jamaica and finished eighth, just behind Robin post of the Netherlands.
