(January 9, 2025) – Kristen Bujnowski won her second women’s monobob race in as many days, once again as part of a one-two Canadian finish.
The two races couldn’t have been any different, though. On Wednesday, Bujnowski dominated the field by well over a second. On Thursday, she had to come from behind to edge out Voss by just .03.
Bujnowski trailed Voss by .03 after the first heat, with USA’s Riley Tejcek lingering around in third, .12 off the pace.
In the second run, Tejcek slid to the lead with the two Canadian sliders to go to get her second medal in as many days. Bujnowski was next, and was .21 quicker to move into the lead by a half of a second.
Voss, the North American Cup leader, was .09 slower off the top and found herself behind by .06 at the first split. Voss continued to fall behind, but had a much better bottom part of her second run to close the gap, but fell just .03 short into silver, with Bujnowski gold.
The top six was unchanged from the previous day’s race. South Korea’s Yooran Kim was fourth, with USA’s Emily Bradley fifth and Latvia’s Amelija Kotane sixth.
With two races left in the North American Cup women’s monobob schedule, Erica Voss leads Kristen Bujnowski by 100 points. Riley Tejcek is third, 16 points behind Tejcek. Agnese Campeol is the top junior in fourth, with Adanna Johnson in fifth.
