(December 21, 2024) – Bree Walker won her first race of the 2024/2025 season with a gold medal in two-woman action in Igls.
Walker and Kiara Reddingius had the second quickest start in both heats, and the two quickest slides of the event on their way to a .24 second victory over Poland’s Linda Weiszewski.
Walker’s victory was her first in two-woman bobsled between World Cup, Europe Cup, and North American Cup.
Behind Walker, Weiszewski and Klaudia Adamek slid to their best ever finish with a silver. The Polish duo had the quick start of both heats for the second time in as many races.
Charlotte Candrix, the winner on Friday, slid to bronze, .01 behind the Polish duo. She and brakewoman Lena Brunnhübner took the lead from Maureen Zimmer and Lena Neunecker in the second heat, with the two German sleds sliding to third and fourth.
The Swiss team of Debora Annen and Julie Leuenberger slid to fifth, .17 ahead of Germany’s Diana Filipszki and Carolin Kupsch in sixth.
As they were a day prior, the two Canadian sleds were close together in the final rankings after two runs. Kristen Bujnowski and Charlotte Ross tied with Lea Haslwanter and Isabela Indruchova for ninth, .07 ahead of Erica Voss and Eden Wilson in 11th.
Sylvia Hoffman and Macy Tarlton were the top American team in 14th. Lauren Brzozowski and Dominique Bron finished 20th, two spots ahead of Riley Tejcek and Andin Fosam in 22nd.
Simona de Silvestro and Martina Favaretto finished tied for 12th with Patricia Czechia’s Patricia Tajcnarova and Lucie Cuda Koudelova.
